’tis the Season to Mummer

The 2011 Mummer’s Festival is coming soon – Saturday, December 17th. Leading up to the festival there are a full series of workshops on building great stuff for mummering like a hobby horse and an ugly stick. There are also interesting presentations on the history of mummering in Newfoundland.

The Mummer’s Festival has a new website that has the complete mummering schedule, lots of photos and footage from the past festivals and many stories about mummering. Go to mummersfestival.ca and get ready to mummer.

The workshops on December 3rd, 6th, 10th, 11th and 13th take place at the Pool House in Victoria Park.
