Adopt-a-Lantern Repair Workshops

The pool house in Victoria Park is open on the weekend and the evenings running up to next Saturday’s Lantern Festival (Jul 30th). We need volunteers to adopt lanterns and beautifully repair them for the lantern installation.

Sunday 12pm – 6pm
Monday 6pm – 10pm
Tuesday 6pm – 10pm
Wednesday 6pm – 9pm
Thursday 6pm – 10pm
Friday 6pm – 10pm – Invitation only. We need experienced lantern makers and focused volunteers for the last night before festival.

It’s too late to build an elaborate personal lantern from scratch at the pool house, but we have many that you can adopt and repair. Repairing a lantern gives lantern enthusiasts excellent insight into what works and what doesn’t when putting a lantern together.

It is very easy to build a lantern from a tin can or a glass jar at home. We’ll have the glass jar workshop on the day of the festival, too.
